SALKANTAY TREK Tours

INCA TRAIL Tours

PERU TRAVEL Packages

Why Is Salkantay Trek Machu Different?

We operate strictly as a low-impact mountain tour operator. Instead of building permanent structures along the trail, we use high-quality mobile camping gear. We set up our tents, pack them down, and leave no trace behind. This approach preserves the natural state of the trail so that future generations can experience Salkantay as it was meant to be.

By choosing us, you support genuine, sustainable travel that protects nature while directly improving the lives of local Andean families.

Preserving the Sacred Salkantay Trail: A Call for Responsible Travel

The Nevado Salkantay has been revered as an Apu—a sacred mountain protector—since Inca times. Named by National Geographic as one of the world's top trekking routes, Salkantay became famous as the ultimate alternative to the Classic Inca Trail.

Unfortunately, unregulated commercial growth now threatens this high-Alpine ecosystem.

Years ago, the Salkantay trail offered a wilderness experience. Responsible operators carried personal tents, kitchen setups, and portable toilet facilities, leaving the landscape untouched. Today, many companies have replaced nature with permanent igloos, concrete lodges, and commercial restaurants directly on traditional campsites.

At Salkantay Trek Machu, we refuse to participate in the destruction of the trail. We continue to use traditional, sustainable campsites in locations with scenic panoramic views, giving you an authentic wilderness trek that respects the mountain.

How to Book with Salkantay Trek Machu

We specialize in high-altitude hiking and offer daily departures for the Salkantay Trek, Inca Trail, and direct Machu Picchu itineraries.

Salkantay Tours 2026 – 2027

Plan your trek to Nevado Salkantay with confidence. Select your dates and complete your reservation through our secure online booking system.

All our Salkantay and Inca Trail treks feature guaranteed departures. However, official entry permits to Machu Picchu and return train logistics depend on government daily quotas. We strongly advise booking your trek as early as possible.

Important Booking Notice:

High season runs from April through August, during which official Machu Picchu tickets sell out months in advance. While our mountain trek departs daily, securing entrance permits to the Inca citadel requires early booking. Please reserve several months ahead to guarantee your entry.

Our local operations team in Cusco is ready to handle your logistics and organize your trek to Machu Picchu.
