Skylodge, Would you like to sleep in this hanging hotel?

The Sacred Valley of Peru offers some of the most incredible views of the world to travelers, but especially spectacular for the lucky and daring adventurers who sleep in the capsules of the Natura Vive Skylodge Adventure, a peculiar lodge to which, at the very least, you have to exude as "a hotel of height". The Natura Vive Skylodge Adventure capsules are hanging from the cliff walls at about 120 meters high. The views are magnificent, and we can not say that they are paniramica of 360º because there is a small part that is stuck to the wall. The accommodation also includes breakfast and a gourmet dinner with wine. Here, in the heart of the Inca Empire, three luxury suites await us, three transparent capsules that can accommodate a total of eight people. There is only one small problem(for many this is not a problem, is adventure): to get there you have to climb the vertical wall of the cliff. The good notice is that also you can access by the famous zipline. But that's where the risks end: the Skylodge capsules (8 x 2.5 meters) are completely safe. They are built with aerospace aluminum and polycarbonate very resistant to the elements. Inside there are high quality mattresses, cotton sheets, as well as pillows and comforters to ensure a good night's sleep in the heights.

Highlights of Skylodge:

  • The curious hotel called Skylodge Adventure Suites of Natura Vive is hanging on a mountain more than 400 meters high around the Sacred Valley in Peru. In addition to living a unique experience, guests can enjoy the most incredible views in the world.
  • With 7.5 meters in length and 2.6 meters in height and width, each module has 4 beds, a dining room and a private bathroom, in addition to 6 windows and 4 ventilation ducts. The only exit is the hatch located at the top, the lighting is ecological and the curtains can be closed (although there will be no neighbors other than some birds).
  • Made of aero-space aluminum and high-strength polycarbonate
  • There are two ways to climb up to Skylodge the hanging hotel and it is always necessary to put on your helmet, gloves and harness. The first option is via ferrata (this is the name given to the type of climbing route in the mountain, with a security system that is permanently installed for people without experience in climbing). The second alternative is a zip line, so you have to "fly" through the different stretches of the "zipline" (there are 7 cables with a length of between 150 and 700 meters).

Sacred Valley Cusco:

Where is the Sacred Valley of the Incas?

The valley of the Urubamba River or "Sacred Valley of the Incas", is located 15 km northeast of the city of Cusco, reached by a paved road. A trip by car to one of the nearest towns will take you around 40 minutes. From there you can move to the other villages of the valley.

How is the Sacred Valley climate?

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located at 2,800 masl, 600 meters below Cusco, and enjoys one of the best climates of this region, temperatures during the day vary between 19 ° and 24 ° C. This privileged climate made the Incas take it as their main center of production, experimentation and agricultural research. Nowadays, travelers use the valley to acclimatize, before starting their tours through Cusco and Machu Picchu, and without a doubt one of the best ways to avoid altitude sickness.

What to see in the Sacred Valley of the Incas?

Known by the Incas as Willcamayu, the beautiful valley extends from the town of Pisac to Ollantaytambo, along the Urubamba River. The ancient Inca settlements in these cities are presented as checkpoints, before entering the "Inca Trail" that leads to the sacred city of the Incas, Machu Picchu; They are simply amazing, and one of the best previews of what you will see in Wonder.

Machu Picchu:

This beautiful citadel is located in the district of the same name Machu Picchu in the department of Cusco in the country of Peru located in the province of Urubamba. The Inca ruins of Machu Picchu are located halfway between the peaks of both mountains, 450 meters above the level of the valley and 2,438 meters above sea level. Machu Picchu is also located halfway between the Andes and the Amazon forest. The Ruins are protected and located within an intangible territory of the National System of Natural Protected Areas by the State (SINANPE) whose acronym derives from the words Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. It is the most touristic place in the country of Peru, it is a sacred place of the Incas. Machu Picchu is located exactly in a stone village built on top of a mountain, 2,500 meters high. To access this place there are 112km of the railway line between the city of Cusco and the Ruins Bridge or Machu Picchu station. To arrive at Machu Picchu, you will pass through the Sacred Valley. It is certainly worth knowing this beautiful place full of nature and Andean animals with a great variety of vegetation in primordial here grow a diversity of different flowers especially "orchids" abound in great diversity and variety of color.

What is the best time of the year to travel to Machu Picchu?

It can be visited throughout the year, but the best season is between April and October, which is the dry season. However, we consider that the best time is between June and September. For the tour to Machu Picchu, the warmest season is from November to March, but it also corresponds to the rainy season.

What was the  Machu Picchu function?
Sacred place and refuge of the Inca Pachacútec. It is known that Machu Picchu was a sacred place in which the Incas worshiped their gods, but that would not have been the only use they gave the Inca City; it is known that it was also used as a kind of retreat for the Inca Pachacutec and his family
